What happens if my prepaid credit runs out?
It won’t! We won’t let it! Your alarm will always work.

Incoming calls to the mobile alarm are free so family and friends can call you on your pendant whenever they like and for as long as they like.

Option 2 - The Smart Option

Pay as you go credit – From $15 a Year.
As part of your purchase your Mobile Alarm comes with an installed SIM card. This SIM card has very good coverage across Australia but not as much as the full Telstra network. Along with a mobile phone number for your pendant you will have a prepaid credit amount of $20 loaded. This will be applied to your ‘Pay As You Go’ account. This credit lasts for 365 days from activation or until it’s used up. We’ll set it all up for you so your alarm is ready to go out of the box. After the first year or when your credit expires simply apply a $15 recharge voucher to keep your Mobile Alarm active for up to another year. This is easy to do – it can be done by either logging into the mobile account we set up for you, clicking the recharge button on the free app on your mobile phone or tablet or by applying a $15 voucher from a local store.

Checking and topping up your credit
It is a good idea to check on your remaining credit regularly to make sure you have enough remaining and haven’t run out. You can do this online, by checking the app or by calling the 1300 number included in your package paperwork. We’re unable to top your credit up for you due to privacy reasons. Remember the Mobile account is in the purchasers name and we do not keep a record of how much credit you have remaining.

What happens if my prepaid credit runs out?
If the credit runs out the pendant will not be able to call out to the emergency contact numbers and send the help text messages. Other features that require voice calls and text messages will not operate until you top up with some more prepaid credit.

How much credit will the pendant normally use?
When you use the Mobile Alarm simply as a medical type alert when help is needed, the $15 can be enough to last a whole year. You use credit up when the pendant dials out to your emergency contacts and someone answers. You also use credit up when the pendant sends text messages. Incoming calls are not charged for.

What could cause the pendant to use credit much quicker?
The main way you can use up your credit quicker is by using the ‘Side Talk Button’ feature. This features allows you to press the side ‘Talk’ button and make a call to a nominated person in your emergency contact list. When you do this you are using the pendant just like a mobile phone and normal call charges of 12c per minute apply.

Mobile Coverage disclaimer

The Telstra 3G Coverage Maps are approximate only. Actual mobile alarm coverage depends on where you are and the device you are using. Customers should be aware that the mobile coverage maps displayed have been created using tools that predict the likely areas of coverage.

Not every particular location within the identified coverage areas has been individually tested for coverage. This means that while the footprint of coverage outlined on the maps is generally accurate, there will be specific areas described as being within a coverage area where a customer’s mobile alarm will not work.

This is a common characteristic of wireless systems. For example, coverage could be degraded or non existent in specific locations due to certain physical structures or geographic features or as a result of the device used. Physical structures which may block or inhibit coverage could include basements, lifts, underground car parks, concrete buildings, tunnels and road cuttings. Geographic features which may block or inhibit coverage could include formations such as hills and mountains or even trees.

GPS functions disclaimer

The LiveLife Mobile Alarm has built-in GPS technology that it uses to fix the location of the pendant with an accuracy of 2.5 metres. In order for the GPS functions to work it requires a line-of-sight connection to satellites in the sky. For the pendant to receive the signal it needs to be pointed to the sky. It normally takes a few seconds to receive the signal and work out the co-ordinates of it’s exact location. It can take up to 10 minutes to get it’s first fix out of the box.

In the event that the pendant cannot receive the GPS signal it will revert to showing it’s last known position. This is the location of the device when it was last able to fix it’s location by satellite. The device conserves power by only trying to get a GPS fix when the device is moved. Because of this we cannot guarantee that when the device is activated the location given is always the current position at the time of activation or that when someone tries to locate it via text message that it will know it’s current position. With that said, if the device does not know it’s current position it will report it’s last known position. This usually means the alarm has not moved significantly from it’s last known position so in most cases this is actually the true location of the Mobile Alarm.

Underground carparks, lifts, concrete buildings, tunnels and other constructions can block the signal from satellites to the pendant. It is possible that if a wearer of the pendant is in a location where there is no GPS signal that there may also be no 3G mobile signal meaning the function of the pendant will not operate till the wearer moves to an unobstructed location.
