What it does
Works with the full Telstra mobile network. When help is needed, the user clicks or presses the SOS/Heart button until the alarm vibrates and a voice will announce “Your Live Life Alarm has been activated.” If not cancelled by clicking the SOS/Heart button, the device will text and sequentially call up to 6 emergency contacts. 000 can be a number that is called. Whoever answers first is the one that the user can speak with in a 2-way conversation. The emergency text messages include a link to Google Maps showing the user’s location. The unit stops the sequence of calls when the wearer clicks the SOS/Heart button. The mobile personal alarm weighs about the same as three 20¢ coins. It’s comfortable to wear with the lanyard provided or on your favourite chain.
Never get lost
If any of the contacts need to find the user, they need only need to send a text to the Mobile Alarm. They’ll then receive a reply text with a link to its location on Google maps. Anyone knowing the number can call the Mobile Alarm and the device will automatically answer in speakerphone mode. The phone icon button on the side of the unit allows the user to call one of the contacts directly with a one second push of the button.

As a family, we purchased the Live Life alarm for our elderly mother early in 2019. The product was highly recommended by another user who I was closely acquainted with. We worked through the initial resistance that is normal from a fiercely independent 94 year old, but with gentle perseverance, she wore the alarm constantly, learnt to charge it regularly and it became her ‘best friend’. In the end, when Mum had a stroke and fell off her chair, it became our most valuable piece of equipment, as a member on the ‘emergency list’ was there in 3 minutes and we were able to get her to hospital. She passed away 3 days later, however the alarm allowed us to get to her quickly and be with her constantly for the next 3 days. Here’s my story. I had an attack of vertigo on Friday and bashed my head on the door as I fell. The mobile alarm called my daughter and I was able to speak to her. My mate and neighbour Dave also got a call and he was able to come get me within a few minutes. I realised later that if I hadn’t had my alarm I could have/would have, been alone on the ground for quite a long time. Works as advertised. Dad fell off his ladder again (even though he’s been banned from using it). He was pretty messed up however the mobile alarm sent us his position straight away. I was able to talk to him through his alarm pendant and realised he needed help straight away. It may have saved the day. This has been an awesome little gadget for Dad and my sisters. Incredible feature you may not be aware of. I cared for my Mum for the last 2 years…last March, when I was in hospital, my family and her dr organised a LiveLife mobile pendant for her and the latest (and greatest lol) Telstra portable landline phone specifically designed for hearing aid users. Mum’s hearing had been bad for years, even with the strongest hearing aid available to her. The new phone was even weaker than the one it replaced. Absolutely useless for her. The only time she could ever have a conversation was on my iPhone on loudest volume and speaker. No other make of mobile worked for her. It wasn’t great, but at least she was able to have a conversation – as long as the caller was prepared to repeat themselves many many times! Then one day she accidentally called me on my mobile from her LiveLife alarm. We had a normal conversation – one that the majority of us take for granted. I thought about this until I got back home. I called her and she could respond, even with dementia affecting her thinking, and talk, SHE HAD NO TROUBLE HEARING ME!!!!!!! Unless you are in there situation we were you may not appreciate the relief this meant – to both of us. Mum could hear quite clearly on a device for the first time in years!!!
Now, as a carer I wish I had been aware of this earlier. It would have given me total peace of mind – if I got caught up I could just call and let her know. That in itself was a weight lifted. So many times I would get home and she would be in tears or just about to cry, wondering where I was. Even with me telling her repeatedly and leaving a note stuck where she could easily see it, she would forget and think I should have been home hours ago. Now she simply called me.
Now, as a salesperson, I was always looking to point out any favourable benefits to my potential customers.

Can you send some brochures guys as the Doctor needs a bunch because I showed him the alarm in action with Mum and he couldn’t believe it. He thinks everyone should have one of these. Mum was in hospital for five weeks after a serious fall and they told her she couldn’t go back to live one the farm. Well she lives on the farm now! These things are just brilliant. Mum used to have one of those old fashioned alarms but it was basically useless because as soon as she walked past the letterbox they never worked. So she’d stay at home all the time.
