Live Life Alarms had the pleasure of exhibiting at the 28th National Occupational Therapy Conference in Sydney on 10-12 July. With over 1300 delegates and 120 exhibitors it was an exciting three days.
Live Life Alarms is already well known within the Occupational Therapy community and we currently supply over 100 care organisations and hospitals across Australia. Our Alarm is fully paid for through the NDIS and My Aged Care Plan as a Level 1 Assistive Technology item.
The Occupational Therapists we spoke with were very impressed with our personal emergency medical alarm system for its size, weight and stylish design. But it was the technical features like inbuilt fall detection and the fact that it is a Mobile Alarm that really wowed the delegates. With a Telstra sim card inside the device, and unlimited emergency calls and texts, the Live Life mobile medical alarm pendant works anywhere across Australia where there is mobile network coverage and the wearer can feel safe both at home, doing the shopping or going for a walk.
However, some of the most positive feedback we received about our personal emergency medical alarm system is that it is monitored by family and friends and not a call centre. The Occupational Therapists shared that this would provide a lot of comfort for their clients, knowing that they when they need assistance, they will be speaking with someone they know and notsomeone in a call centre. They were also impressed that there are no ongoing monthly fees as cost is a big concern for their clients.
It was fantastic to reconnect with existing contacts and make new connections within the OT community. We look forward to the next National conference in June 2020 which is going to be held in Cairns!
